Canary Yellow Sequins Stun the New York City Tulips

Tulips! My absolute favorite flower in the whole world. The tulips and daffodils always leave a lasting impression on folks visiting New York City in the spring. It is a sign that the winter frost is finally coming to an end. I love the way this canary yellow dress looks like it was almost made for a photo in front of these gorgeous little beauties.

My dress is by Glamorous and it's from KK Bloom. The owner, Kendrick Slaughter styled me and says, "Yellow is one of the biggest trends for Spring and Summer. This color has gotten a bad wrap over the years but it is actually quite flattering on just about every skin tone. Especially a true canary yellow. People also tend to shy away from daytime sequins. The beauty of this piece is that your can pair it with a denim jacket and a pair of sneakers for the day. And throw on some heels and add a bouncy curl in the hair for an evening look!"

Wearing Byron Lars in NYC's West Village

I just had to come check out my old hood in NYC... The West Village. I think it's Manhattan's best neighborhood. Chill vibe. Amazing bars, boutiques, cafes, and fitness studios. When I moved to New York in 2011 I was living in the Central Park South area. That was nice too since it was right by Central Park and I was able to walk to work at Fox. But it felt too touristy. And the buildings were too tall! LOL Anyway it feels so nice to be back in the hood. So many fond memories of long walks with Baxter and romantic meals with my husband are all flooding back. New York City will always hold a special place in my heart.

Now for the dress! The DRESS! It's by Byron Lars. His styles are very tailored and the detailing is impeccable. You can pick one up using this LINK. Shop other Byron Lars goodies by scrolling down.

Neutral Tones and Sequins in NYC's West Village

Neutral tones and sequins are an unsuspecting yet perfect pair. Classy and elegant with a touch of pizazz. The neutral tones mute the scream that sparkle can sometimes bring... the kind that causes a dress to enter the room before the woman. It's all about the girl in the dress... not the just the dress right!? The under layer of this dress is nude in color. That hue combined with its fitted naturekeeps the tailored look... despite having a looser overlay.

I declare! I will wear this dress until the sequins fall off! I've probably worn it too many times as is. It was a West Village staple while I was living there. Hey! If there are different people at the events you're going to... and the dress is a hit... Do you really have to wear something new every time!? Every time I got to give it to GoodWill... I think... I'll just wear it ONE more time! Do you have any dresses like that?

Check out my handpicked goodies below. As always... let me know on social media if you find something that jives with your style!
